We asked ChatGPT who the best chiropractor in Jacksonville is

Before asking anything, we built the list. 255 chiropractic practices in the Jacksonville area — real, licensed, open, seeing patients. Nearly all of them sit inside Jacksonville itself: 254 of the 255.

Then we asked the questions a patient actually types, phrased four ways, of two different AI assistants — eight checks for Jacksonville. Every check came back with named practices, in order. Not "here is how to choose a chiropractor" — actual names.

A practice counts as named if it came back in at least one of those eight checks. We recorded the name exactly as the assistant gave it and matched it to the practice on our list. No practice was added because it is a customer of ours, and none was left out for not being one.

That is a tight geography — Jacksonville and little else, which makes the comparison between practices unusually direct.

8 of 255 is 3.1% — about one in thirty-two. For a market this crowded that is a very small door, and 247 Jacksonville-area practices are on the outside of it.

Dr. Alan Nathans came back in four of the eight checks, more than any other Jacksonville-area practice. That is a count of how often a name appeared, not a judgement that it is the best practice in Jacksonville — we did not assess anybody's care.

We run the same questions past more than one AI assistant, because patients do not all use the same one. ChatGPT named 4 Jacksonville-area practices. Counting a practice if any assistant named it gives 8. Both figures describe the same 8 checks.

So a headline that says "we asked ChatGPT" has to quote 4, and the board — which counts every assistant — shows 8. Quoting the bigger number under the ChatGPT headline would overstate it, which is the one mistake this whole exercise exists to avoid.

The practical read: the assistants do not agree with each other. 4 Jacksonville-area practices were named by the other assistant and not by ChatGPT. Being named by one is not being named by all of them.

The practices that got named carry a median of 324 Google reviews. Across the whole Jacksonville cohort the median is 49. The named group is the better-reviewed end of the field — but plenty of well-reviewed Jacksonville practices were not named, so reviews alone clearly do not decide it.

The heaviest review file on the Jacksonville list belongs to Dr. Alan Nathans in Jacksonville, at 484 Google reviews and 4.9 stars. It is also the practice the checks named most often, which is the tidy case — and it is not the usual one. What every named practice did have was something readable — a page saying who the doctor is, what the practice treats, and where it is.
